Rogue Equipment opened at 500 San Marcos St. this month, and Hill Country Running Company is due to open in March at 215 S. Lamar Blvd. Both stores are headed by folks with plenty of experience in the Austin fitness community. Ruth England and Steve Sisson of Rogue Training Systems, which puts 3,000 athletes a year through 50 different training programs, teamed with Craig Staley and Stephanie Terrell of Bettysport, that cool women's fitness shop at 916 W. 12th St. (and now also in the Domain), to open the new Rogue running store just east of Interstate 35. Rogue will still offer training programs but now adds retail to the mix. "The timing just seemed right for a new shop," Staley says. "Austin is the only city of its size or larger without multiple running retailers, so the need has been there for some time." The shop, around the corner from Progress Coffee, is near the future site of a commuter-rail station and close to the Lance Armstrong Bikeway.

CBC should receive stable, multi-year funding: report
I actually think they all do a pretty bad job.
CBC needs public funding with stricter guidelines to what is shown.
For instance,
Jpod is a great show
so is Tudors and LIttle Mosque shows viewership
Rick Mercer and 22minutes are a bit tired but they are at least doing a better job of news than the rest of Canadian tv media.
I think CBC needs to re-format into several stations,like the BBC.
And lastly, if thes CONs want to drop public funding and the television fund, then ya CBC needs a 'capital investment' which can be paid back.
This CBC bashing isn't helping Canadian identity. I am sure we are all tired of jsut being known for an old beaver and those mountie uniforms.
BTW, jimmy, did you realise the acts that were at the Grammys this year? and all the other reward shows? ALL Canadian.

Truant kids, parents get lesson in court
O'Neil deals with a teenager who just had a baby. Her mom is by her side and the baby is strapped to her chest. She left school to have the child but was supposed to receive at-home services. According to mom, the teacher never showed up. "That's your job, mom, you should have been on that," O'Neil says. "Pedro Garcia should have tripped over you every day until your child got the homebound teacher she needed. "If she had cancer, you'd be breaking down the door at Vanderbilt," he says, now yelling. "This is cancer of the mind. She didn't get a homebound teacher and you didn't do anything about it." O'Neil says there's only so much the court can do to force kids to go to school. In some cases, the parents go to lengthy measures to keep kids out of school, including registering them in home school or moving so they can't be found.
